Canyons had posted a 1-1 record in Western State Conference (WSC), South Division play, including a double overtime road loss at conference leader No. 11 Bakersfield College, since the last poll was released on Jan. 26. That loss moved COC down a spot from its No. 8 position a week ago.
The Cougars bounced back in resounding fashion, however, with a convincing 82-59 road victory at L.A. Valley on Saturday. COC is currently second in the conference behind Bakersfield.
Canyons is slated to return to action Saturday, Feb. 5 vs. L.A. Valley in the Cougar Cage. That game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tip.
