Baseball Shutout by Mission
After shutting out LA Mission a week ago at home, the College of the Canyons baseball team was held scoreless by the Eagles, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon at LA Mission College.
SYLMAR, Calif. – After shutting out LA Mission a week ago at home, the College of the Canyons baseball team was held scoreless by the Eagles, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon at LA Mission College. With the loss, Canyons falls to 17-16-1 and 13-6 in conference play.
Canyons starter Joseph Cloney (7-2) took the loss after surrendering five hits and three earned runs. Cloney tossed his second complete game of the season, while striking out six Mission batters.
COC was held to only four hits that from three players, as Dylan Freyre went 2-of-4 and Nick Vigo and Justin Russell had one hit each.
The Cougars will finish out the season with a home/away series with Bakersfield College. COC will travel to Bakersfield College on Thursday, April 24 and then will return home for its last regular season competition of the year on Friday, April 25 for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
