Chris McCready Named CCCBCA Player of the Week
The sophomore center fielder went a combined 7-for-11 in last weekend's two-game set vs. Cosumnes River.
College of the Canyons sophomore center fielder Chris McCready has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) Player of the Week after a tremendous performance vs. NorCal No. 1 ranked Cosumnes River College on March 4-5.
In Game 1, McCready finished 5-for-5 with a pair of home runs, three RBIs and four runs scored from the leadoff position to help the Cougars earn a 14-3 victory over the Cosumnes.
On Saturday, McCready was at it again, this time going 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored and adding a highlight real leaping catch in the outfield that saved at least two runs from scoring in COC's 12-10 loss to the Hawks.
Entering Thursday's game vs. Citrus College, McCready was batting .404 with nine RBIs and a team-high 15 runs scored.
Canyons is currently the No. 3 ranked team in Southern California.
