College of the Canyons sophomore designated hitter Nick Henry has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) Southern California Player of the Week for the period running April 8-13.
Henry put together quite an impressive week while helping the Cougars to a three-game sweep over conference foe Victor Valley College. The Chatsworth High School grad finished the three-game set a combined 12-of-16 with a home run, three doubles, six runs and seven RBIs.
In Thursday's home tilt vs. the Rams Henry went 5-of-5 with a pair of runs. Those numbers helped the Cougars (19-15, 10-7) plate an impressive 51 runs in the series while moving COC into second place in the WSC, East Division standings.
