By the end of the third quarter, Pasadena was up by ten points, but the Cougars mustered a run in the fourth quarter that tied the game at the end of regulation. COC's Nick Hale took the ball into the end zone twice in the fourth quarter on three and two-yard run plays to help the Cougars pull ahead of the Lancers with a little more than five minutes to play in the game.
Pasadena tied the game with a 35-yard field goal with four minutes and the match-up went to extra time.
The Cougars had the first drive and Justin Morales' 20-yard pass to Stephen London was good for a touchdown, while James Rodriguez scored the extra point.
On third-and-11 for the Lancers, a pressure filled throw to move the ball was intercepted on the 10-yard line by linebacker Evan Harrington, which secured a win for COC.
The defense did its job, holding Pasadena to only 53 yards on the ground. Justin Cudworth attributed 10 tackles, five solo, a forced fumble, a pass break up, a blocked pass and a sack. Antwan Smith had seven tackles, four solo and two sacks for a loss of 11 yards.
