Canyons Wide Receiver Nick Jones Named to All-California Team

College of the Canyons freshman wide receiver Nick Jones has been named to the 2015 All-California Community College Football Team.
Jones is COC's lone representative having been named a Region III First-Team selection by the California Community College Football Coaches Association.
In 2015, the Valencia High School graduate, led the Cougars with 68 receptions, 1,240 receiving yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 18.2 yards per catch.
Additionally, his average of 124 receiving yards per game in 2015 was the top mark in the state.
In his first year with the Cougars, Jones turned in a string of spectacular performances including six games in which he gained more than 100 yards receiving. In four of those games he topped 150 receiving yards.
During a two-game stretch in October, Jones caught 19 passes for 363 receiving yards including a touchdown in COC's 42-24 win at Allan Hancock College on Oct. 24. He was subsequently named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Bulldogs.
Jones was also a unanimous selection to the 2015 Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Northern League First-Team Offense.
The All-California Community College Football Team is selected by the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA), in conjunction with the JC Athletic Bureau.
