NEW RANKINGS - Canyons Football Re-Enters Top-25

College of the Canyons has re-entered the state's Top-25 rankings after registering back-to-back wins vs. ranked opponents to even its record through the first four weeks of play.
Canyons (2-2, 1-0) is No. 21 ranked team in the state according to the most recent JC Athletic Bureau (JCAB) Coaches Poll released Sept. 25. The Cougars are also ranked No. 23 in the current California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) poll.
COC emerged with a 24-14 road win at No. 19 Santa Barbara City College in week four. The Cougars also defeated No. 21 Palomar in 17-7 home win Sept. 16.
College of San Mateo remains the top ranked team on both sides with slightly differing results throughout the rest of the state's top-25.
Canyons currently has four ranked teams remaining on its 2023 schedule with No. 13/9 El Camino (3-1), No. 16/20 Bakersfield (3-1), No. 25/NR Moorpark (2-2) and No. 18 Ventura (2-2) all upcoming.
COC hosts Antelope Valley College as part of the college's 2023 Homecoming Celebration Saturday, Sept. 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. The game is being broadcast to fans free of charge via YouTube on the Cougars Sports Network through a partnership with SoCalCollegeSports.com.
