Canyons Takes Game to OT, But Comes Up Empty in 64-55 Loss
The College of the Canyons men's basketball team led early, tied late, and took host Bakersfield College to an extra period of play, before eventually falling 64-55 in OT on Wednesday night.
COC sophomore guard had another big night for the Cougars, hitting 7-of-15 shots — including five three-pointers — to finish with 20 points in 39 minutes of play.
Canyons forward Tullio Parry wasn't as hot from the field, but still managed to score 10 points and grab nine rebounds while playing a solid 40 minutes for COC head coach Howard Fisher.
Elsewhere, guard Chance Cole scored eight points, collected eight rebounds and recorded three steals.
Bakersfield was not particularly effective, hitting only 36.8 percent of its shots and a paltry 1-of-9 from downtown. However, the Cougars helped the Renegades by committing 20 turnovers and shooting 30.2 percent from the field.
Canyons (14-12, 6-7) will head home for its season finale on Saturday, Feb. 21, as the Cougars tip-off against Citrus College at 3 p.m.
