The College of the Canyons men's basketball team lost to West L.A. College 88-65 on Wednesday night.
The final score reflects the final 15 minutes of play for the Cougars, who struggled to get shots to go down.
Canyons led 45-44 early in the second half, but allowed a 17-5 run that built an 11-point, 61-50 lead for the Wild Cats — a margin the Cougars ultimately could not overcome.
Jalen Ewell's 16 points and nine rebounds led the Cougars in both categories. He also had three blocks and an assist.
Victor Nwaba scored 14 points and collected six rebounds in 36 minutes of play.
Canyons guard James Chevious led all scorers off the bench with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He also grabbed six boards and dished out two assists.
