Victor Nwaba Earns All-WSC First Team Honors
Nwaba led the Cougars with 18.1 points per game to also rank fifth in the WSC. His 5.4 rebounds per outing were second best on the team.
College of the Canyons leading scorer Victor Nwaba was honored for his stellar 2015-16 season, earning All-Western State Conference(WSC) First Team Honors as the Cougars' lone representative on this year's all-conference squad.
Nwaba led the Cougars with 18.1 points per game to also rank fifth in the WSC. His shooting percentage of 45.3 percent from the field led all Cougars who played more than eight games.
His 5.4 rebounds per outing were second best on the team.
Nwaba played in all 26 games for the Cougars, an accomplishment in itself considering the rash of injuries that plagued head coach Howard Fisher's team this season.
He posted double-digit point totals in all but two games to help provide the Cougars with a steady presence throughout the 2015-16 campaign.
"I am proud of Victor's accomplishments during his time at College of the Canyons. He has grown as a person, student and basketball player," said Fisher. "That hard work paid off on the court where he earned the respect of our conference's coaches in earning All-WSC First Team honors."
Always an explosive scorer, Nwaba finished his Cougar career with a 30-point performance vs. Antelope Valley College on Feb. 20, after shooting 13-of-19 from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point land.
