Cougars Win First Tournament Of The Season
The College of the Canyons men's golf team won its first tournament of the season on Monday afternoon as the Cougars carded a 742 (368-374) at the two-day Double Eagle Tournament in Bakersfield.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's golf team won its first tournament of the season on Monday afternoon as the Cougars carded a 742 (368-374) at the two-day Double Eagle Tournament in Bakersfield.
The Cougars entered the second round with a eight stroke lead over second-place Reedley College, but increased the margin to 24 strokes after two rounds.
Jake Katz led the field with a two-round score of 144 (71-73), beating out second-place finisher and COC teammate, Luke Kristo by two strokes. Canyons had five golfers finish in the top-10.
The Cougars will host the first conference tournament on Monday, Feb. 11, at Valencia Country Club at 10 a.m.
