Cougars Back On Top of Southern California Rankings
The College of the Canyons men’s golf team has moved back into the top ranked spot in the Men’s Southern California Regional Poll, which was released on Sunday, April 6.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of the Canyons men's golf team has moved back into the top ranked spot in the Men's Southern California Regional Poll, which was released on Sunday, April 6. Santiago Canyon, which was the ranked No. 1 in the March 13 and March 29 poll, moved down to second.
Canyons was ranked No. 1 in the March 22 poll, but dropped down to No. 2 the last week.
The Cougars had another strong week, finishing in first place at the sixth conference tournament, held at Santa Maria Country Club. As a team, Canyons recorded a season-low 356 and saw top-golfer Sidney Wolf record his lowest round of the season after carding a 67.
COC owns a 48-6 record overall and a 40-2 Western State Conference record. The Cougars have won five tournaments this season, including a victory at their own tournament, the Canyons Tournament, which included all of the top four ranked teams in Southern California.
Canyons is led by Wolf who has averaged 72.4 strokes per tournament. The sophomore has been COC's top scorer in six tournaments and has shot under par in four outings.
The Cougars will travel to Marshall Canyon Golf Course today for the squad's seventh conference tourney.
