COSTA MESA, Calif. - College of the Canyons started off the Orange Coast Classic with a rout of El Camino, 87-42, in the first-round game for both teams.
Kelly O'Linn scored 28 points in the win on a 12-for-17 shooting afternoon, while Andrea Bobic and Charity Smith tallied double-doubles for the team, with 16 points and 11 rebounds and 14 points and 10 boards respectively.
In the second game, COC lost a 39-34 lead against the No. 10 team in the state as they watched Saddleback score 45 points in the second half. The Gauchos held Smith to only four points and nine rebounds, but Bobic scored 21 points while Brittany Bradley added 25 points, three rebounds and two assists.
In the final game, Canyons rebounded with a win against Cerritos, 71-68. The Cougars were behind by one point at the halftime break, but turned around a 33 percent shooting percentage in the first half to 50 percent in the second half. Bobic led the team with 20 points and eight rebounds, and O'Linn and Bradley contributed 15 points each.
Bobic and Bradley were named All-Tournament for their efforts during the three-game series.
