COC's Playoff Run Ends In Second Round At Hands Of Cerritos
The College of the Canyons women's basketball team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons in the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association women's basketball regional tournament, 79-60, Saturday at Gahr High School.
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of the Canyons women's basketball team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons in the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association women's basketball regional tournament, 79-60, Saturday at Gahr High School. The Cougars finished their season at 19-11 and the loss ended an eight-game win streak.
Sophomore Angelica Sahagun notched his eighth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while sophomore Bev Weaver scored 16 points. Sophomore Jazzmyn Davis and freshman Amanda Ajdari each scored 10 points for COC.
Trailing 38-24 at halftime, the Cougars couldn't get the lead down to single digits as they saw the Falcons go 7-for-15 from the 3-point line in the second half, while COC shot 2-for-7 from the 3-point line.
