Cougars Golf Keeps Conference Record Perfect
Cougars have won the first three WSC tournaments of the season
The College of the Canyons women's golf team continued its winning ways on Monday, as the Cougars hosted Western State Conference (WSC) Tournament No. 3 at Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills.
COC finished first among the four teams with a score of 323, while claiming three of the top individual scores. The Cougars have now won the first three WSC tournaments of the season.
Freshman Tiffany Whitaker finished the day with a score of 79 to lead the Cougars, and tie for the tourney's second place overall finish. COC freshman Elisabeth Mortensen and sophomore Andrea Webster each turned in a mark of 81 to tie as the tourney's fourth place finishers.
Santa Barbara City College finished the tournament in second place with a team score of 353 to hold off third place Citrus College (386). The Citrus team also featured the tourney's top two individual finishers.
College of the Canyons will next travel to Morro Bay Golf Course for a 36-hole tournament Sept. 28-29.
