Canyons Takes Second in San Dimas
The Cougars had three players finish in the top-10 of individual standings.

SAN DIMAS — College of the Canyons had three players finish in the top-10 of the individual standings, as the Cougars slotted into second place at the Western State Conference (WSC) tournament hosted by Citrus College.
Canyons carded a four-player score of 394 at San Dimas Golf Course to finish 10 strokes back of tourney winner Antelope Valley College at 384.
Citrus (416) and Bakersfield (427) rounded out the team standings. Santa Barbara City College and Moorpark College also competed but did not factor into team scoring.
Nisha Gaulke was the top finisher for Canyons with her round of 94. That placed her sixth in the field of 27 individuals.
Katie La Torre finished just behind Gaulke with a round of 97, good for eighth place. Marie Naud took ninth overall after her round of 99. Ashley Cortez was the fourth scoring member for COC with her round of 104.
Canyons has now finished second behind AVC in back-to-back tourneys.
The Cougars will next compete at the WSC event hosted by AVC on Monday, Oct. 4. That event is scheduled to tee off at 11 a.m. from Antelope Valley Country Club.
