The College of the Canyons women's soccer team continued its winning ways on Friday with a decisive 4-0 win over Antelope Valley College.
Entering the contest at 9-1-3, COC played in stark contrast to an Antelope Valley squad dwelling near the bottom of the Western State Conference South standings.
The match played out with three different Cougars tallying goals in the win. Scoring first was Natalie Mitchell, who found the back of the net in the 27th minute off of an assist by Marissa Kneisl.
While it wasn't until the second half that COC scored again, it didn't take long for the Cougars to put the game on ice once they found the net again.
Within a matter of eight minutes early in the second half, COC brought the score to 4-0 off of two goals from Anabell Gonzalez, and a third from Brooklynn Stevens.
For the final half hour of play, COC played to maintain its commanding lead.
Canyons has now shut out 12 of its last 17 opponents this season.
The Cougars will next travel to Santa Monica on Oct. 28.
