COC Volleyball Easily Puts Away Riverside

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Following its weekend tournament in Cerritos, the College of the Canyons volleyball team easily dispatched Riverside 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-17) in front of a home crowd on Wednesday.
The sweep was made possible by yet another impressive performance from sophomore outside hitter Serena LeDuff, who finished with 12 kills on 33 total attacks for a team-high 12 points.
On Wednesday, the COC attack was balanced, with four Cougars players scoring seven points or more. Freshman middle blocker Erica Magee finished with nine points, while eammates Lauren Underwood and Brooke Garelick each tallied eight.
The win moves COC to 5-3 to begin the season, with conference play beginning against West Los Angeles on Oct. 3 at home.
College of the Canyons will next host Long Beach City College at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.
