The College of the Canyons women's volleyball team began its weekend at the Cerritos Invitational Tournament on Friday with a convincing win over San Bernardino College
Canyons (5-0) won the match 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-16) thanks in large part to the to an impressive serving performance by the Cougars, who combined to tally 15 aces.
The consistent offense displayed by the Cougars in each of the first four matches was evident again, as head coach Lisa Hooper's team posted a .317 hitting percentage against San Bernardino (1-4).
COC sophomore outside hitter Brooke Garelick led Canyons with a match-high 10 kills and a .240 hitting percentage.
Canyons freshman outside hitter Emily Bible added eight of her own kills with an impressive .636 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter Katie Rutecki had 18 assists and four of the Cougars' 15 aces of the match.
