No. 15 Canyons to Host No. 18 Mt. JAC in Postseason Opener
Canyons (13-10, 10-2) and Mt. San Jacinto (17-5, 10-0) will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 in the Cougar Cage.

College of the Canyons is back in the postseason for an eighth straight season, with the No. 15 seed Cougars slated to host No. 18 Mt. San Jacinto College on Saturday, Nov. 20 in a CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoff play-in match. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Cougar Cage.
General admission tickets to CCCAA postseason games are $12. Students/faculty/staff (with ID) from both schools, seniors over age 60 and children under 12 are $8.
Fans unable to attend Saturday's playoff match can watch the live stream broadcast on YouTube via the Cougars Sports Network. COC alum and Cougars Sports play-by-play man Matt Robinson has the call.
No. 15 Canyons (13-10, 10-2), which played the state's toughest non-conference schedule, finished second in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division standings behind conference champion Bakersfield College (20-1, 12-0).
The Cougars have won seven straight matches, and 11 of their final 13, heading into the postseason.
On Tuesday, COC defeated No. 16 state ranked Ventura College (17-6, 8-2) In a WSC Crossover contest to close out the regular season.
The Cougars have now qualified for the postseason every year since 2013, including trips to the state championship tournament in 2015 and 2017.
No. 18 Mt. JAC (17-5, 10-0) won the Inland Empire Conference for a second straight season in 2021, and now heads to the postseason for the fourth time in the last five years.
The Eagles ended the regular season on a three-game streak, having also won in 10 of its final 11 matches.
Canyons headed into the final week of the regular season tied for the No. 25 spot in the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) rankings.
COC shared its ranking with Solano (21-11, 14-0) and Saddleback College (13-9, 8-8). Mt. JAC was not included the final regular season ranking.

The top four teams from each region will then meet at the 2021 state championship tournament being held Dec. 3-5 at Fresno City College.
