Vivianna Alvarado & Raz Orbach Named Jersey Mike’s Student-Athletes of the Week

College of the Canyons student-athletes Vivianna Alvarado (women's basketball) and Raz Orbach (men's basketball) have been named the Jersey Mike's COC Athletic Department's Women's & Men's Student-Athletes of the Week for the period running Nov. 25-30. Alvarado and Orbach are the 14th, and final, set of honorees for the fall 2024 semester.

Alvarado tied for the game-high with 16 points in the Cougars' narrow 49-47 road loss at L.A. Mission College on Nov. 30.
The freshman guard out of Sylmar High School played the full 40 minutes and added four rebounds and a pair of steals to her stat line. Her 16 points represented a season high.
Through six games, including three starts, Alvarado is averaging eight points and 3.3 rebounds each night out
Raz Orbach / Men's Basketball
Orbach scored a game-high 20 points, including 13 in the second half, during a 66-65 home loss to Santa Barbara City College on Nov. 26.
That performance came on an 8-of-12 shooting night that also included two rebounds, two assists and a steal across the sophomore's 23 minutes of play.
Orbach, who hails from Tel Mond, Israel, is averaging 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists through eight games.
