Krista Viereck and Ethan Posthumus Named Jersey Mike’s Student-Athletes of the Week

College of the Canyons student-athletes Krista Viereck (softball) and Ethan Posthumus (men's golf) have been named the Jersey Mike's COC Athletic Department's Women's & Men's Student-Athletes of the Week for the period running March 3-8. Viereck and Posthumus are the eighth set of honorees for the 2025 winter/spring session.

Viereck put together a three-game hit streak including a 4-for-4 performance in the Cougars Western State Conference (WSC) opener vs. Citrus College on March 6.
The West Ranch High School alum added a run and a pair of RBIs to her perfect day at the plate.
Later in the week, Viereck collected three more hits in a two-team doubleheader at College of the Sequoias. She finished 1-for-3 with an RBI in the opener vs. West Valley College, then followed up by going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI vs. Sequoias in the afternoon affair.

Posthumus carded his lowest score of the season to help Canyons finish second in the team standings at the WSC tournament hosted by Allan Hancock College at Santa Maria Country Club on March 3.
The sophomore from British Columbia finished the day at two-under-par to earn tourney medalist honors. His score of 70 represented his best of the season.
On the season, Posthumus has finished no worse than 10th at any conference event.
