Bio

Jesus "Chuy" Garcia begins his first year as an equipment technician with the College of the Canyons Athletic Department in fall 2024.    

Garcia brings more than 13 years of experience in athletic equipment management, with a diverse background that spans the high school, collegiate and professional ranks. 

Prior to arriving at College of the Canyons, Garcia spent three years as an equipment manager at Moorpark College. He also previously worked at University of Portland, spending two years as the Equipment and Game Day Operations Coordinator for the Pilots’ athletic programs.

He has also served professional organizations including the MLS Vancouver Whitecaps, MiLB Hillsboro Hops, and the IWFL Bakersfield Bombers.  

Prior to his time at the University of Portland, much of Garcia’s experience was gained in Bakersfield, where he worked at Golden Valley High School and California State University, Bakersfield. 

As a Certified Athletic Equipment Manager, Garcia is passionate about serving student-athletes at the highest level.
