Bio

Patricia Villanueva is in her fourth year as an athletic trainer with the College of the Canyons Athletic Department in 2024. 

As a certified athletic trainer, Villanueva is responsible for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of activity related injuries and conditions that student-athletes sustain while participating in intercollegiate athletics at COC. 

In addition to her athletic training duties at COC, Patty also works at West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation-Team to Win, a non-profit organization. She is also a preceptor for California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Athletic Training Education Program. 

Prior to joining COC, Patty worked with club sports at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is now per-diem. She obtained an FMT Myofascial Cupping certificate and a certification from NASM as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. She is now working on obtaining the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.

Patty is a COC graduate, she completed her associate degrees in Kinesiology, Athletic Training and Physical Education in 2018. She received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training in 2020 from California State University, Long Beach.

She resides in the San Fernando Valley.
