SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons baseball team extended their winning streak to four games Saturday afternoon, as they defeated Santa Barbara, 6-5.
COC pitcher Cory Jones pitched five solid innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and had seven strikeouts.
Canyons trailed 5-3 going into the seventh inning until a pair of RBI singles by first baseman Jake Jelmini and right fielder James Bonds and a RBI sacrifice fly by center fielder Kevin Lenik put them ahead to stay.
COC pitcher John Salas pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth inning to pickup his second win of the season. Jelmini and Bonds combined for five hits and two RBIs.
COC will travel to Golden West on Tuesday, Feb. 21 for a 2 p.m. game.
