Cougars Drop 4-2 Result at Glendale

College of the Canyons opened up its three game conference series with Glendale College on the road, dropping the contest 4-2.
Canyons (20-13, 11-5) was quick to put up its only two runs in the first inning, before Glendale's pitching staff took control the rest of the way.
COC sophomore Andy Ambriz was able to bring Jovan Camacho home on an RBI-double. Later a sac-fly from Jake Schwartz brought in Charlie Rocca for the second run.
Glendale (26-9, 15-1) later tied the game when Joey Craig reached home on a bases-loaded balk by Tyler Biggs in the third inning. Soon after, Nick Sutherlin doubled in two runs for the Vaqueros, which proved to be the difference.
Harish Balachondron started for Canyons and tossed the first two innings before giving way to Biggs. Balachondron allowed one run on two hits.
Biggs took the loss after allowing for three runs, two of which were earned, while walking three batters and issuing one strikeout in his two and 2/3 innings of work.
Jon Bahr worked or two and 1/3 innings before Luke Lemmond closed out the game for the Cougars.

Upcoming Schedule
Canyons continues its series vs. Glendale on Thursday, April 20 at 2:30 p.m. before closing out the third game on the road at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
The Cougars will close out the regular season with a final three-game series vs. the Citrus Owls beginning Tuesday, April 25.
