COC was keeping pace with the Hornets, despite a scoreless first quarter, after the team erupted for 29 points in the third quarter.
Only trailing by eight points headed into the final quarter, 44-36, Fullerton quickly scored two touchdowns in the first two minutes of the quarter and COC would not recover.
Emanuel Koleosho and Josh Irvin led the defense with eight stops each and Irvin and Khalil Bass recorded interceptions for the Cougars.
Canyons gained more offensive yardage than Fullerton. COC had 512 yards, 441 in the air, and Fullerton garnered 478 yards, 281 in the air.
