COC freshman wide receiver Marquise Brown is heading to Oklahoma University, sophomore defensive lineman Sione Taufahema will transfer to University of Arizona and sophomore offensive lineman Tyler Bjorklund will move on to Colorado State University.

COC punter Austin McKinney and defensive lineman Dorian Gerald have both been named to the 2016 Region III All-California Community College Football Team.

Included in the group of First Team selections are offensive lineman Tyler Bjorkland, wide receiver Marquise Brown, defensive lineman Dorian Gerald and punter Austin McKinney.

Canyons will now face No. 6 Mt. San Antonio College (7-3, 4-1) in the Golden State Bowl being held at Saturday, Nov. 19, at at Covina District Field.

No. 11 College of the Canyons (2-2) will host No. 8 Grossmont College (3-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Cougar Stadium.

Brown, a freshman from Hollywood, Florida, finished the game with five catches for 151 yards and three touchdowns, and three kick returns for 139 yards and a touchdown.
