Cougars Lineman Kilian Zierer Named to Junior College Preseason Starting Lineup
Zierer, who recently committed to Auburn University, is one of just 10 players from a CCCAA program to be included in the preseason designation.
College of the Canyons offensive lineman Kilian Zierer has been named to the 2019 College Football America Yearbook Junior College Preseason Starting Lineup, one of just 10 players from California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) programs to be included in the preseason designation.
The Preseason Starting Lineup team is comprised of players from both the National Junior College Athletic Association and from the CCCAA the two major sponsors of junior college football.
Zierer, a 6-foot-7, 290-pound offensive tackle who recently committed to Auburn University, arrived at Canyons in 2018 from Hohenkirchen Siegertsbrun, Germany.
His play in the trenches helped COC's offensive unit post an average of 33.6 points per game and more than 4,300 yards of total offense. Canyons went on to post a perfect 10-0 regular season record and claim the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Northern League Championship.
COC is joined by Butte College, Riverside City College, East Los Angeles College, Long Beach City College, College of San Mateo, Grossmont College and Feather River College as CCCAA programs with players included on the Preseason Starting Lineup.
Canyons will face East L.A., Long Beach and Grossmont during the upcoming 2019 season.
