College of the Canyons continues to rise in both California Community College Football statewide polls, having opened the 2021 season with a perfect 3-0 record.
Canyons moved up a spot to No. 5 in the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) poll released on Sept. 22.
The change comes after the Cougars were able to defeat then No. 8 ranked Fullerton College by a 22-17 final score last week.
COC also checked in at No. 5 in the JC Athletic Bureau Coaches Poll, having moved up two spots from the previous week. The Cougars started the 2021 campaign ranked No. 9 in the Athletic Bureau poll.
The most recent CCCSIA and JC Athletic Bureau Coaches Poll results can be found here.
Currently, all six teams in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Northern League hold a statewide ranking.
COC has opened its season with offensively dominate wins over Antelope Valley College and Southwestern College, following by a defensive showcase at Fullerton in week three.
No. 6 Canyons will next face No. 21 Palomar College, who this week jumped in the CCCSIA poll for the first time this week, on Saturday at Cougar Stadium. That game is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m.
Once again, Saturday's home game will be live streamed to fans on the Cougar Sports Network through a broadcast partnership with SoCalCollegeSports.com.
