Matt Crater begins his seventh season as a member of the Cougars football coaching staff.
Crater joined the staff in 2013, the same season head coach Ted Iacenda arrived at the helm. He is the program’s assistant head coach and special teams coordinator, and also works with the team’s safeties.
When not coaching football, Crater works in the college’s Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) as the Athletics Program Mentor, assisting student-athletes from COC’s 17 intercollegiate athletic programs with a variety of academic needs.
Prior to joining the staff at COC Crater served as an assistant coach with the football programs at University of Montana Western and Los Angeles Valley College.
He currently resides in Santa Clarita.
