Rodriguez Leads COC Past Glendale
Sophomore Victor Rodriguez netted two goals, including the game winning score, on Friday afternoon and the Cougars beat Glendale 2-1.
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Sophomore Victor Rodriguez netted two goals, including the game winning score, on Friday afternoon and the Cougars beat Glendale 2-1.
COC jumped on the board first with a goal in the 31st minute with a penalty kick that Rodriguez found the back of the net.
Glendale came back two minutes later to equalize the score at 1-1 in the 33rd minute.
The two teams fought through a tied game and it took 33 minutes for the Cougars to earn the lead. Jesus Salazar passed the ball to Rodriguez who kicked the ball into the back of the net in the 66th minute.
Sophomore goal keeper Alex Burkevics collected four saves in 90 minutes of work in goal.
The Cougars will travel to Oxnard for a pivotal game agasint Oxnard College on Tuesday.
