COC Opens Conference Season With Victory Over Glendale

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons men's soccer team flew past Glendale College on Tuesday night, 5-1, at Cougar Stadium. With the victory, COC improves to 2-2-1 and 1-0 in conference play.
The win, was the largest margin of victory for the team since the season started.
Mayro Gomez scored just 10 minutes in and the scoring continued for the Cougars the rest of the game. Freshman German Oliva-Techera had a multi-goal game as he found the net twice in the second half. Sophomore Jordan Markovich and freshman Angel Sandoval also had a piece in the scroing action. Steven Jusko notched two assists in the match, along with Nick Potter and Jamie Bent. Freshman Hector Leon had six saves in goal.
COC outshot the Vaqueros 18-10 in the victory. COC will return to action on Friday, Sept. 14, to travel to Santa Barbara College.
