The College of the Canyons men's soccer team returned to recent goal-scoring form, defeating Moorpark College 4-0 at COC's upper field on Thursday afternoon.
The win extends the Cougars current five-game unbeaten streak against Western State Conference (WSC) opponents.
Four different Cougars scored in the contest, including two substitutes.
COC got on the scoresheet early into the match. Brian Cano scored his second goal of the season in the fifth minute off an Oscar Sanchez pass giving COC an early 1-0 lead.
Later, in the 25th minute, Sanchez scored a goal of his own to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead.
The Cougars would tally one more before the halftime whistle with a goal by midfielder Adrian Arguello. Jonathan Trujillo was credited with the assist on Arguello's first goal of the season.
In the second half, substitute Skyler Kell scored a goal wrapping up the scoring for the Cougars on the afternoon. It was Kell's first goal of the season.
The shutout was goalkeeper Cristian Arriaga's fourth consective blank sheet.
The win improves COC's record to 3-4-3 overall with a 3-2-2 conference record.
Head coach Phil Marcelin's squad will next face L. A. Mission College at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Sylmar.
