The College of the Canyons men's soccer team netted three goals but had to settle for a 3-3 draw vs. host L.A. Mission, as the Cougars continued their current six-game conference win streak.
Canyons (3-4-4, 3-2-3) first scored in the ninth minute when forward Oscar Sanchez found the back of the goal on a pass from Zachery Nua, who was credited with the assist.
Just seven minutes later is was Kaonnye Opazo extending the Cougars' lead to 2-0, with the assist from Iban Alaniz.
That momentum would be short-lived, however, as L.A. Mission scored a goal of its own roughly 60 seconds later to make it a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.
The Eagles would continue their attack in the second half, eventually scoring a pair of goals in the 78th and 80th minute of play.
Canyons managed one last scoring play, as Alaniz scored a dramatic, unassisted goal in the final minutes to make it a 3-3 game — and salvage the draw.
The Cougars will next host Santa Monica College on Friday, Oct. 16.
