Canyons Softball Jumps Into State Rankings at No. 7 Spot
COC (10-2-1) is also the No. 4 ranked team in Southern California.
The College of the Canyons softball program is the No. 7 ranked team in the state and the No. 4 team in Southern California according to the most recent California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) State and Regional poll, released March 9.
Canyons (10-2-1) entered the statewide rankings for the first time the season after sweeping an afternoon doubleheader at Saddleback College on Friday, March 6.
Despite having won nine of its last 10 games Canyons currently shares both spots in the polls with Western State Conference, Blue Division rival Citrus College.
Coincidentally, COC will host No. 7 Citrus at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, in the team's home opener.
However, before that the Cougars will head to L.A. Mission College for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 10.
