Canyons Has Four Game Win Streak Snapped in 4-1 Loss to Glendale
Cougars are limited to just one in on there hits.
The College of the Canyons softball team fell behind 2-0 early and never could recover, as the Cougars dropped the second game of an afternoon doubleheader to host Glendale College on Tuesday.
Canyons emerged from the first game with a 10-1 victory in five innings, but weren't as fortunate the second time around.
COC freshman pitcher Ashley Russo suffered her first loss of the year to fall to 4-1, despite allowing just two earned runs.
After scoring an efficient 10 runs on nine hits in the first game, the Cougars were limited to a lone run from shortstop Cheyenne Steward.
In fact, only three Cougars (Erica Esparza, Kaitlyn Shreves and Jennifer Metcalf) recorded hits in the game.
Steward, COC's leadoff hitter, reached base three times via walk, but was stranded twice.
Canyons will next return home to host L.A. Valley College at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26.
