Cougars Claw Wildcats in 11-0 Road Win
Canyons (20-11, 11-0) scored eight runs in the first and never looked back to win its third straight.

CULVER CITY, Calif. — College of the Canyons scored 11 runs for the second time in as many games as the Cougars downed host West L.A. College 11-0 in five innings to win their third straight on Tuesday.
COC sophomore Danielle Chatman extended her arms for a three-run home run in the first inning to spark an eight-run rally that all but ensured the Cougars' victory.
Sienna Vannoy, Kyla Yamane, Valerie Rivas, Rena Edwards and Heidi Ludy each recorded an RBI in the opening inning. Canyons also stole six bases in the game.
Megan Wilson got the win after scattering six hits across the first four innings. Joy Veloz pitched an inning of relief to help close out the Wildcats.
Jordan Vallejo finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Ludy was 2-for-2 with a walk and a pair of runs. Lyndra Fenald and Rivas both had two hits for the Cougars.
Canyons (20-11, 11-0) will continue its conference schedule with a home matchup vs. L.A. Mission College at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Prior to the start of that contest the Cougars and Eagles will continue their game from March 13, which had to be halted due to rain. Action will resume at 1 p.m. with COC leading 5-0 and two away in the bottom of the fifth inning.
