Bio

College of the Canyons softball assistant coach Jazmine Esparza enters her first season as assistant coach with program in 2022.

Esparza, who recently completed a five-year collegiate playing career, brings a wealth of knowledge and playing eperience to the team. Her primary responsibilities will be to work with the team's infielders and provide hitting instruction.

After a high school career split between Bishop Alemany and John F. Kennedy High, Esparza continue her playing career at University of Central Florida where she starred from the 2016-2021 seasons.

During her final season at UCF, Esparza primarily played first base but also made appearances behind the plate and in the outfield. She batted .349 on the year and ranked 29th in the nation with 15 doubles. She was first on the team with 45 RBIs and second with 58 hits to be named an All-American Athletic Conference First-Team selection, in addition to NFCA Mideast All-Region Second Team honors.

Esparza holds a bachelor's degree sports & exercise with a minor in sports business & coaching from University of Central Florida.

She currently resides in Sylmar and enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and being at the beach with friends and family.
