Women's Basketball Struggles To Win Against El Camino
The College of the Canyons Cougars struggled to beat a team they had beat by 45 points just three days earlier as they nabbed a 67-60 victory against El Camino College on Tuesday night at the Cougar Cage.
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of the Canyons Cougars struggled to beat a team they had beat by 45 points just three days earlier as they nabbed a 67-60 victory against El Camino College on Tuesday night at the Cougar Cage.
COC couldn't hold off a pesky El Camino team that came within five points, 27-22 at the 3:42 mark of the first half. The Cougars went on an 11-3 run to close the half and took a 38-25 lead into the break.
The Warriors opened up the second half with a 13-6 run that placed them behind by six points, 44-38. The Cougars continued to struggle on offense as El Camino tied the game twice at 50 and 52. El Camino took its first lead with 2:26 left in the game, 57-56, but COC scored on a back-to-back Andrea Bobic 3-pointer and a layup from Kelly O'Linn, to help the Cougars win the second game against El Camino in the last three days.
Charity Smith recorded a double-double in the win with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Bobic had 17 points and eight rebounds, and O'Linn contributed 14 points.
COC will remain at home as they host No. 8 San Francisco on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 5 p.m.
