SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Freshman forward Jazzmyn Davis scored a game-high 14 points to lead the College of the Canyons women's basketball team (18-6, 7-0 WSC) to a 88-47 win over the West L.A. Wildcats (6-15, 1-6 WSC) on Saturday at the Cougar Cage.
Freshman forward Destiny Melton scored 13 points and added eight rebounds off the bench, while freshman guard Tinky Dahte chipped in 10 points. Freshmen Erika Rivera and Jenny Lentz each had nine points apiece for the balanced Cougar scoring attack.
The Cougars held West L.A. to 32.8 percent shooting (19-of-58) on the day, including just 25.8 percent (8-of-31) in the first half.
COC will travel to Bakersfield on Saturday, Feb. 5 for a 7 p.m. game.
