COC Wins Opening Round of Rose City Classic
College of the Canyons women's Basketball opened the Pasadena Rose City Classic with a bang, disposing of Butte College, 110-59, on Friday.
PASADENA, Calif. - College of the Canyons women's Basketball opened the Pasadena Rose City Classic with a bang, disposing of Butte College, 110-59, on Friday. It was the first time for the Cougars hitting the century mark in scoring this season.
With a commanding 51-24 lead at halftime, COC continued to force the pace with their relentless fast break.
Sophomore guard Bev Weaver led four Cougar players in double figures, with a career high of 32 points. Jazzmyn Davis added 22 points and 11 rebounds, Angelica Sahagun pumped in 18 points and Leilani Young hit four 3- pointers off the bench for 12 points.
The Cougars will play Los Angeles Pierce in a semi-final match tomorrow at 6 p.m.
