PASADENA, Calif. - In a hard fought contest, the College of the Canyons women's basketball team lost in the Championship game of the Pasadena College/Rose City Classic, 71-65, to Pasadena City College on Sunday afternoon.
Angelica Sahagun's 21 points wasn't enough to overcome the Lancers as the Cougars fall to a season record of 6-4.
Canyons led by two points late in the second half but a string of missed shots around the basket and some untimely turnovers led to their demise.
Bev Weaver and Sahagun were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Cougars return to action next week at the Orange Coast Tournament when they face Cuesta in a first round game.
