Cougars Drop Conference Home Opener

The COC women's basketball team shot 22.5 percent from the field in its conference home opener against L.A. Valley and the team fell 78-45 to the visiting Monarchs.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The COC women's basketball team shot 22.5 percent from the field in its conference home opener against L.A. Valley and the team fell 78-45 to the visiting Monarchs.

COC got 20 points from Angelica Sahagun and 13 points from Amanda Ajdari, but the rest of the team combined for 12 points total.

Canyons had trouble from the start and fell behind 38-19 at halftime.

Things got worse for COC as they shot 18.4 percent from the field in the second half and only put up 26 points.

COC will travel to Citrus College on Saturday, Jan. 7 for a 5 p.m. match up.
