COC Falls Short Against West LA

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's basketball team continued its losing streak on Saturday night with a 72-67 decision against West L.A. College.

Freshman Angelica Sahagun had 22 points and sophomore Jazzmyn Davis added 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Canyons went on an 18-8 run in the final seven minutes of the first half to trail the Wildcats by one point, 35-34.

The second half went back and forth, but the Cougars got as close as one point with a minute remaining. Two missed free throws and a turnover gave West LA the win.

COC will remain at home to host Santa Monica on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.
