SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Freshman reserve Keiona Mathews scored 17 points off the bench on Saturday night and the Cougars remained in first place in the conference with a 69-51 victory over Glendale College.
Canyons held the visiting Vaqueros to 25 percent shooting from the field and 15.4 percent from the 3-point line.
Starting guard Shawn Kolani had 17 points and five rebounds and Hope Smith and Delisa Chapman pulled down 12 rebounds each.
The Cougars will host L.A. Valley on Saturday, Feb. 2 in a rematch of the only conference team that the Cougars have lost to this season.
