COC Women's Basketball Falls To Ventura In Championship Game
The College of the Canyons women's basketball team dropped a 85-59 decision to Ventura College in the final round of the Ventura College-Kiwanis Tournament of Champions on Sunday night.

VENTURA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons women's basketball team dropped an 85-59 decision to Ventura College in the final round of the Ventura College-Kiwanis Tournament of Champions on Sunday night.
With the loss, Canyons falls to 5-4 on the season, while Ventura improves to 5-1.
The Cougars shot 28.8 percent (21-73) and were outscored 45-22 in the second half, after trailing by three points at the half, 40-37.
Sophomore guard Shawn Kolani led the team with 19 points, while dishing out nine assists. Sophomore forward Keiona Mathews turned in her fourth double-double of the young season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The College of the Canyons will take the week off, before hosting Cypress College on Friday, Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m., for its season home opener.
