Canyons Sees Glendale Comeback in 62-58 Loss

The College of the Canyons women's basketball team couldn't hang on to a 13-point halftime lead against Glendale College, losing 62-58 on Saturday night.
Things looked good for the Cougars headed into halftime with COC's defense allowing only one made field goal in the last six minutes of the first half.
The Cougars held off a furious Vaquero comeback deep into the second half. Glendale took their first lead with just over six minutes left to play and was able to edge out COC for a four-point victory.
COC freshman forward Monica Friedl had a tremendous performance, scoring 12 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, while adding three steals and four blocks for the game.
Sophomore guard Jordan Oster also scored 12 points for the Cougars, while fellow guard Qimmah Russo chipped in with nine points and eight assists.
Canyons (12-7, 2-2) will next travel to West Los Angeles College (5-10, 1-3) at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21.
