The College of the Canyons women's basketball team defeated host Glendale College 71-47 on Saturday night to extend its win streak to 15 games while remaining undefeated against conference opponents.
Canyons (20-4, 10-0) remains the No. 6 team in Southern California according to the most recent coaches poll.
On Saturday, the Lady Cougars were led by sophomore forward Monica Friedl who scored a game-high 17 points. Friedl also added 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double in conference play, and 17th on the season.
COC freshman Erin Kiley recorded her first double-double of the year vs. the Vaqueros with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophomore forward Hannah Green had a game-high 19 rebounds. Green also led the game with five assists and five blocks. She also added two steals for the Lady Cougars.
Sophomore guard Brittany Martin added 14 points and five rebounds off the bench.
Canyons will host Citrus College (15-8, 8-2 WSC) at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.10. A win will clinch COC at least a share of the Western State Conference, South title.
