Lady Cougars Stoehr, Patron & Davis Named to All-Conference Squad
COC sophomores McKenzie Stoehr (14.8 points) and Cristian Patron (18.6 points, 9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks) were First-Team selections, with freshman Diamyn Davis (14.3 points and 10 rebounds) earning an Honorable Mention nod.

The Lady Cougars basketball program is being represented on the 2019-20 All-Western State Conference (WSC), South Division squad by sophomores McKenzie Stoehr and Cristian Patron and freshman Diamyn Davis.
This is the second First-Team selection for Stoehr and Patron who both earned post season accolades as freshmen a season ago. Davis earned Honorable Mention honors.

Patron started in all 27 games for COC, ending the season with an average of 18.6 points per game and a field goal percentage of 48 percent to lead the team in both categories. Her scoring average was the WSC's No. 2 mark and placed her No. 19 in the state. She also ranked second on the team, and 11th in the conference, with nine rebounds each night. On the defensive end, Patron was fourth in the WSC with 1.8 blocks per night to go with 1.6 steals.
She surpassed 20 points on 13 occasions and topped 30 twice, including a season-high 37-point output on the road vs. Santa Monica on Feb. 5. Patron, who attended Granada Hills High School, was held to single digits in just three games as a sophomore. Those numbers placed her in the conversation for conference player of the year.
Stoehr was second on the team with an average of 14.8 per night while leading COC in three-point shooting with a mark of better than 36 percent. Against WSC, South opponents she upped her long-range percentage to better than 40 percent.
A graduate of Bishop Alemany High School, Stoehr led the team in minutes and started in all 27 games for the Lady Cougars.
Davis made a big impact for Canyons, finishing her freshman campaign with an average of 14.3 points and a team-high 10 rebounds per contest. Her rebounding prowess placed the Viewpoint High School grad sixth in the WSC.
She recorded double digit rebounding totals in 14 of 27 games, including seven of the final 10 games down the stretch, with her season-high output of 18 coming against Reedley College back on Dec. 7. Davis was also second on the team with 18 blocks.
Canyons finished the season 13-14 overall and 8-6 vs. conference opponents to place fourth in the WSC, South division. The Lady Cougars failed to reach the postseason for just the third time in head coach Greg Herrick's 28 seasons at the helm.
